Hotei, more commonly known as Happy Buddha, is shown here in a seated position. His plump figure and benign countenance suggest contentment, magnanimity, and plenitude. Folklore has it that rubbing his pot belly brings good fortune. Shown with minimal details lines, the statue while made of poly stone mimics mahogany wood. Look closely and you will notice the distressed detailing in the finish that further accentuates the mahogany look.
